The Northcote Development will see 1,500 new terraced and apartment homes delivered to the Northcote community over the next 5 years. These new homes will be a mix of state, market and more affordable homes that are warmer, drier and healthier to live in.
Piritahi’s job is to prepare the land in Northcote to build and live on, enabling more homes to be built faster. We’re also designing and constructing new and upgraded infrastructure and three new pocket parks, creating a safer, greener and more connected Northcote.
The Northcote Development is a Kāinga Ora — Urban Development project. For more information, head to the Northcote Development website.

Projects Underway

  • Infrastructure and utility upgrades are underway across the neighbourhood.
  • Footpath reinstatement, streetscaping and landscaping are underway in some areas and will continue over the coming months, to improve the appearance of streets.
  • House removals and land remediation continue as we prepare land for new warm, dry homes.
  • A new road connection (Matatiki Street) between Greenslade Crescent and Potter Ave is being constructed.
  • Greenslade Reserve is currently closed to the public while we undertake significant changes. These include footpaths, playground, field construction, earthworks & landscaping. Completion date is to be confirmed.
  • Works continue on the Awataha Greenway. This is due to be complete end of August 2022.
