Interested in hearing about our progress in Oranga?
The Oranga Development will see 1,000 new terraced and apartment homes delivered to the Oranga community over the next 8 years. These new homes will be a mix of state, market and more affordable homes that are warmer, drier and healthier to live in.
Piritahi’s job is to prepare the land in Oranga to build and live on, enabling more homes to be built faster. We’re also designing and constructing new and upgraded infrastructure, parks and public spaces to create a safer, greener and more connected Oranga.
The Oranga Development is a Kāinga Ora — Urban Development project. For more information, head to the Oranga Development website.

Oranga

Projects Underway

  • Service and utility upgrades are underway on Waitangi Road. This involves undergrounding overhead services and upgrading existing underground services to improve the appearance of the neighbourhood and protect services from damage. This work involves some footpath diversions and road shoulder closures. We are working closely with Watercare throughout this work to minimise disruption as much as possible.
  • 19 Houses have recently been removed from Oranga Ave and State Ave. Land remediation is now underway to prepare the sites for future development.
  • Work is underway to prepare some apartments on Felix Street for removal over the next few months.
  • The Oranga Community Garden is located at 63 Oranga Ave. We'd like to welcome all residents to drop by and get involved.
