Three to the rescue in Aorere

Three workers from Aorere epitomised the Alliance commitment to community when they took care of a resident who fell through a window

Three Alliance team members, Andrew Va’a, Apolosi Liunga and Willie Hoepo sprang into action last month to help a resident who fell from a ground floor window. The incident took place at Aorere near where the colleagues were working. The resident lost their balance and fell through the glass, landing in the garden. Our workers rushed to help and called paramedics.

Quick actions by Andrew, Apolosi and Willie saved the shaken resident from more serious harm – the resident was checked by ambulance officers who gave the all-clear.

Our neighbour was extremely lucky to escape without major injury or cuts considering all the broken glass. Andrew boarded up the window, securing the home until the window could be repaired.

Tai Kainiu, our Community Liaison Advisor met the resident and their caregiver soon after to ensure all was well.

This incident is a great example of the positive contribution that our teams can make to the neighbourhoods we work in!
