Spotlight on Chris Cole – Pre-Construction Operations Manager

Chris's new role as Pre-Construction Operations Manager aims to bring together and streamline the work we do at Piritahi.

Piritahi is a design and construct programme. From pricing to designing, consenting, construction and handover, our teams work together; sharing expert knowledge, innovating and implementing lessons learned, to streamline processes and make the work we deliver as efficient as possible.

Piritahi General Manager Mat Tucker adds “Having clear accountability across the business for delivering every stage of the project lifecycle, backed up by smooth processes and practices and easy to use, integrated systems, means we efficiently work together and confidently deliver on our commitments to Kāinga Ora.”

Chris is well known across Piritahi already – he helped set up the Westhaven office right at the start when the Alliance was formed, and has been jumping between office and site ever since.

Chris’ complete understanding of the Alliance structure and function is backed by 16 years’ commercial and construction experience at Hick Bros, making him a natural fit for the newly established Pre-Construction Operations Manager position, in the Pre-Construction team.

The Pre-Construction team are self-described translators – bringing together design, construction and estimation considerations.

This team is responsible for projects from when they are first scoped, through to delivery when they're handed over to our construction teams.

Acknowledging the experience and expertise in his team, Chris looks forward to helping them to see the bigger picture of the work Piritahi does, while also developing awareness of the progressive work coming through the commercial space across wider Piritahi.

In Chris’ words, “Pre-construction sets us up to fail or succeed. We want to give ourselves the best opportunity to succeed.”

Chris’ appointment into this role will see Piritahi deliver on our commitment to provide the land and infrastructure that our communities need.
