Piritahi raises over $24,000 for Movember

We're wrapping up Movember for 2020 and excited to share that Piritahi’s Puketāpapa (Roskill South) team raised a total of $24,523 towards men's health. This outstanding effort put them at 2nd place on Movember's team leaderboard.

The team has gone above and beyond and set a great example of Piritahi's values of Care and Commitment.

Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Matt Ward shares what Movember means to him.

"For me, Movember is about celebrating life."

"We all have stories to tell of hardship and loss, but I think it's important we also celebrate the great gift of life and remember to appreciate every moment we have. This year in particular has been tougher than most for me. I experienced my own battle with a health scare and have also lost several family members and friends."

Matt explains how after his experience, he can’t emphasise enough the importance of early detection and prevention when it comes to our health, “Growing a mo’ and shaving our lids was a fun way to make a statement, but it’s also an important reminder for our fellow bros to take care of ourselves. Go for check-ups, reach out for support if you need it – remember to put your health first. Together, we can honour the past, celebrate the present and through the incredible Movember movement, change the face of men’s health.”

A massive thanks to Matt for sharing with us and well done to the team for this amazing effort. The bar has been set high and we’re looking forward to see what we achieve next year!
