Meet Piritahi's new Head of Operational Excellence, Shelley Prentice

The team at Piritahi is delighted to welcome Shelley Prentice to the role of Head of Operational Excellence.

Piritahi, which means ‘coming together as one’ in Te Reo, is an alliance of companies delivering over $1B of land development and infrastructure works for Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities’ large-scale developments.

Shelley’s visionary drive for “delivering profitable growth through the power of people” aligns with Piritahi’s approach to delivering the considerable scope of land development work currently being rolled out.

“I was interested in this role because it had a deep sense of purpose and a really great team. To be able to deliver significant social, cultural, and economic benefits to the wider community, and New Zealand, really connected with me.”

The Head of Operational Excellence role is responsible for the strategic planning, support and directional aspects of operations and program initiatives within the alliance through the improvement of business systems and culture. The role is two-fold. As well as optimising the Alliance’s efficiency, Shelley also has functional responsibility for People & Capability, IT & Systems, Quality Management, Programmes & Scheduling and Construction Phase Support functions.

“Leading a culture of continuous improvement across the Alliance really excites me. I am particularly passionate about connecting people to build high performing, values-led, human-centric cultures that reflect the communities in which we live and work.”

Shelley’s impressive career spans senior roles within People and Capability across the UK, Australia and here in New Zealand, most recently as General Manager, People and Capability for Ventia - one of the largest essential service infrastructure provider in New Zealand and Australia.

Shelley has joined us through Piritahi’s member company, Tonkin + Taylor.
