HS&E Manager

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for providing leadership across the Alliance and is a champion for the care of our people and a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture. The HS&E Manager will achieve this through the creation of excellent strategies and solutions, tactical management and exemplary leadership that ensures our entire Alliance team, subcontractors and suppliers buy into and actively champion safe and compliant working practices.

We are passionate about setting new standards of excellence in H&S management through the development of an outstanding culture of care and concern for each other and our programme backed up with safe ways of working.


Requirements:

  • Formal qualification in Health and Safety, Total Quality Management, Project Management or other relevant qualification.
  • Extensive experience in H&S management within complex civil/infrastructure projects, particularly horizontal infrastructure, through to delivery, preferably large-scale projects ($1.5B).
  • Achievement of outstanding results for each of the responsibilities outlined in this document across a broad range of experiences.
  • Outstanding leadership skills:

    - Technical Expert:
    In order to set stretch but reasonable goals and standards; coach and advise their team; and problem solve,

    - Team Building:
    Skilled at getting the best out of people, building a culture of high engagement and managing their resources effectively,

    - Collaboration and influence:
    Skilled at bringing people together (in own team and across teams) to share ownership of decisions and buy-in to agree approaches. Can challenge effectively to raise the bar,

    - Driven, productive, results orientated:
    Will roll their own sleeves up to get things done and lead by example. Strikes the right balance between working on and in the business. Has clear plans/strategies and articulates them well.


Our head office is based in central Auckland and we have active projects in Northcote, Mt Roskill, Oranga, Māngere and Tāmaki. This role will be based at one of our site offices.
