Health, Safety and Environment Manager

You will be responsible for providing leadership across the Alliance and champion a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture. This position will report to the Alliance General Manager and lead the HSE Team.

What you will be doing

  • Development of strategies and plans to develop, enhance and measure how a safety-first approach is embedded across the Alliance
  • Managing a team of safety professionals and providing safety leadership across the Alliance
  • Forming close working relationship with design, construction and Kãinga Ora
  • Ownership of the processes to identify, communicate and manage HSE standards for all positions, plant and equipment
  • Implementation of safe emergency response plans & timely Investigations into HSE Incidents
  • Reporting to meet all audit, regulatory and company including board requirements
  • Accurate reporting of performance against the required KPIs

The successful candidate will have

  • Formal qualification In HSE or other relevant qualification
  • Extensive experience in HSE management within large scale complex civil / infrastructure projects
  • Managed a large team and successfully collaborated and influenced the wider business and site teams
  • Able to promote an approach to risk management that minimises threats and maximises opportunities.
  • Outstanding leadership
